Codi's new (old) car!

This weekend we went to pick up Codi's new car...The car may not look that good, but, it is and has always been, Codi's dream to fix up an old VW Beetle. The car is primed for a paint job, Dale will have to put all the electrical wires back in it, and he will need to put the windows back in, but overall VWs are one of the easiest cars to work on. Dale had a Beetle about ten years ago and he has had several race cars, so ever body need not worry...he knows what he is doing. This car will be an ongoing process, putting it back together. The previous owner was trying to turn it into a dune buggy...but fortunately for us...he ran out of money. It has actually turned into a hobby for the whole family, which is good because lately things have been so crazy busy around here. We are all having a really good time with it. Below are some more pictures of the 1965 VW Beetle.Oh...and it does run...very well actually!

Juls, What a cute little car. It will certainly be a project the whole family can get into. Looks like the boys are already settling in! Look out Codi - you will have to keep close tabs on it or little brother may think it is his!
Love to all,
Mom

65 VW Beetle Race Car
#53 I suspect!
0 - 60mph ( 3min. 41sec. )
0 - 90mph ( less than 5min. if you can get enough straight road down Blood Mountian ), and stops in less than 300ft. if you have a heavey enough anchor. Make sure you beef up the floor board in front of the gearshift because if the rubberband breaks under stress it could come through the pan and whack off a foot.
Actually I have had one of these cars and am jealous because I'd like to have another one.
( although the cost of the rubber bands do seem to offset the gas mileage nowadays! Love ya Codi-Pop
